Feedback

So here's the question...how do all of the freelancers out there maintain sanity?

Or here's the better question.

In the past when I've worked at agencies, or within a collaborative group, it's imperative to brainstorm, critique, and gather feedback from a creative group. If you're a one person shop, what's missing ? Better yet, who do you collaborate with. I know that in my personal experience, a one person shop can be an uphill climb, if for no other reason than there's no one to 'bounce' things off of. No one to say, "That color works well", or "I don't like the negative space", or "It's too busy", or "Let's grab a coffee".

So for those freelancers out there: what's missing ?

New Web Startup

http://kevinrose.com/blogg/2008/10/26/forget-web-2030-start-something-during-web-25.html

After watching this, it really got me to thinking.  As the owner of a small motion graphics company who mostly produces assets and content myself, I can see the need for a few very-specific, social based resources that are sorely lacking for small shops, which I've thought about for years now. I really like how Kevin postures starting in a slow(ish) economy, but I'm not sure that would work for every different type of startup, especially what I'm thinking of. There are a lot of small company, "freelance" services out there, except for this one specific area. My concern is, with the economy the way it is, and I move forward with it, will the people come ?

Guess it's time to really research this and see if there's a way to pull it off.
